Scott Bell, an Agent, here at Tradition has donated to The Local in Stratford. The Local is a community food centre with the objectives of providing the community with access to healthy food and opportunities to cook and grow that food. The Centre has a community garden that provides people a place to grow their own food for themselves or the community. They have cooking classes for all ages which allows everyone to develop new skills and use healthy food. They believe that by connecting people with food and allowing everyone, no matter of their financial status, access to healthy food people will make healthier choices in their lives.

Scott and his daughter used to go to The Local on Tuesday nights for make your own pizza nights and then wander around the community gardens. They create a sense of community over healthy, accessible food. Tradition’s donation will go towards purchasing a new food truck. This truck will be used to pick up food from local food companies and local farms. It will also be used for helping likeminded groups in the region to set up similar community groups.

Food and community is something that goes together hand and hand. The Local has done an amazing job creating a sense of community over their accessible programs and healthy food. People are able to grow, gain knowledge and confidence. Tradition thanks The Local for all they do.
